Interesting. I thought you appealed to patriotism rather than nationalism, and I consider the difference between the two more than semantic.

And here I've fallen into one of Haidt's traps, interrogating the distinction too harshly, even within myself. You are correct; Patriotism and Nationalism are siblings, possibly even twins, but not the same person and not even identical. The argument came from the former and was meant to speak to the former.

Apologies for conflating the two. Thanks for pointing it out.

I feel I owe you an additional apology for behaving like one of the so-called progressives you mentioned in your post yesterday. That was kind of shitty.
